Common questions
Is the launch finder really free?
Yes — which launches are visible from your location, the visibility tier, distance to the pad, the cardinal direction to look (e.g. ENE), and the viewing-timeline step titles are free forever. A free account also gets email alerts for one location. Pro unlocks everything else: the exact bearing in degrees, minute-by-minute T+ times, precise viewing guidance, scrub & delay alerts with visibility-threshold and lead-time controls, launch-time weather + a 7-day outlook for your saved spots, a morning digest and launch recap emails, sonic-boom + jellyfish predictions, ISS & Starlink-train pass alerts, the trip and photo planners, a launch history log, five saved locations, and a personal calendar feed.
Is there a free trial?
The free plan is the trial — use the finder as long as you like before paying anything. When you do upgrade, Pro comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee, so there's no card-up-front trial to remember to cancel.
What's the Trip Pass for?
You're driving to the Space Coast for one launch. You don't want a subscription — you want the full Pro feature set, just for the trip. The Trip Pass gives you all of Pro for seven days — including the trip planner (your dates, your location, best launch + backup chances) and up to five saved locations — for a single $5 payment, no auto-renew. If every launch in your saved location scrubs out of that window, email hello@looktospace.com and we'll extend it free of charge.
What's a Founding Member?
A one-time $29 payment that gives you every Pro feature for life — no renewals, ever — plus your name on the supporters page if you'd like it there. It's limited to the first 100 supporters, and it exists because early believers deserve a better deal than any subscription. The 30-day money-back guarantee applies.
Can I cancel?
Pro subscriptions can be cancelled anytime from your account — you keep the features until the end of the period you've already paid for. Trip Pass and Founding Member are one-time purchases and never renew, so there's nothing to cancel.
Do you offer refunds?
Yes — 30-day money-back on Pro and Founding Member, self-serve from your account. Trip Pass is non-refundable because it's a one-week pass, but the scrub-extension policy above covers the case where every launch slips.
Family sharing?
Planned. If multiple people in your household want the alerts, email us and we'll figure something out in the meantime.
Where does the data come from?
Launch schedule + pad coordinates from TheSpaceDevs Launch Library 2; weather from Open-Meteo; visibility geometry computed in-house — see the methodology page for the math and limitations.
